Ch 2.5

Tom admired the poor kids bravery. It took the man 10 seconds before he let out an oath that burned his ears. Lilly went to work right away with ensuring his comfort. She poured half a bottle of brandy into the mans mouth then took to observing the most promenent wound, his head.
"Is 'e going to die?" Tom inquired softly, so as to not arouse panic in the guest. He found him lying on Lilly's steps, and presumed him as dead, but felt for a pulse. When he felt the pulse, faint yet there, he knew that if the man had any chance, it would be with Lilly.

"No, its all bluster, as most head wounds are, but i think we should give him another drout of ail before we get to setting this leg of his. Im going to need some help, can you grab the upper part of his leg? Im going to set the bottom one to it. It's going to be a challenge, not to set, but to keep the poor man from struggling. Tis the most painful part you see." She then got to work pouring the bran dy down his throat. The mans alcohol drugged eyes looked at her in panic and she tried to sooth him with soft words and comforting looks. Finally the mans muscles uncleanched in total trust of her abilities. "Alright," she whispered softly, "this may hurt a wee bit, but do take note that the pain will only be fleeting and if we do not ge this bone set, i fear you shall never walk again." She frowned as she bent to take a look at the damage. She was pleased that there was no bone poking out of the skin like she had seen from some of the other unfourtunante gentalmen thrown from their horses. She sighed, men really shouldnt be allowed to ride until they learned the proper way to set a horse.
Lilly looked into the mans eyes and he at once felt perfectly calm. There was something about her eyes that made him feel as if nothing could harm him....

"ARRRGH! DAMMIT WOMAN, WHAT THE 'ELL?" The man thrashed his body, but Tom luckly had a good hold on his leg and his grip wasnt relenting. Lilly tried to set the bones again, the mans oath startling her into nearly dropping the leg. God what a grating voice that man had. She picked up his leg, pulled and with sickening grinding sound, proceeded to set the bone in place. When Lilly was satisfied that her work was completed, the took two flat boards, rope and a two stalkings. She put one stalking over the mans swollen leg, sandwiched the legs between the two boards and put the other stalking over the makeshift cast. It would have to do for now.
The man watched as this beautiful sadistic woman bent over him to examine the extent of his other wounds. He listened as she asked sadistic man number two to get her a dish of warm water and a clean rag. She dipped the soft rag int he warm water and proceeded to gently whipe away the blood and dirt caked on his face and chest. Maybe she wasn't sadistic he thought as she was gently favoring his forhead. In fact, she was down right heavenly, an angle. He looked up to observe her face as she concentrated on her task. She was rather enchanting, the soft brush of eyelashes sweeping her cheek when she blinked. Her soft skin, not white but not dark either made him wonder of her origin. 'Twas an unusual color for a woman to have, and her lips were highly unfasionable as well, but he was never partial to the hair-thin lips that women seemed to favor. No, he enjoyed full lips to accomidate his, he didnt like feeling as if he was swallowing a poor chits mouth whole.
The poor girl looked exhaused, with dark purple marks staining her lower lids, but she looked pleased with her work and she smiled a sleepy smile.
"Tom, can you take him up to the main bedchamber up stairs? 'Tis closer and i shall take the guest chamber. I shall be up in a wee bit to check in on him, but for now i think i shall clean up in here." She then smiled a brilliant smile at Tom and turned to fix up the room with little noise.
Tom sauntered up the stairs, carrying the weight of the now sleeping man to the main sleeping chaimber. The gently layed the man down on the soft feather bed and covered him up. He turned to leave, worried about leaving Lilly alone with a strange man in her house when the man in question coughed and said, "I promise not to hurt her, first off, im stuck in this damned bed bed for awahile i assume, and number two the chit saved my life, and to that, i owe her the world. Thirdly, i have been sent here to protect her, for she is in grave danger."
